If I had to choose one word to describe Pastor Estich it would be amazing.  I watch him day in and day out love his community, his people, all of us unconditionally.  His compassion is exciting, I am in awe of him, and he is so on fire for Christ!  He truly has a heart for his people, a city filled with traditions, but very empty, hurting people.  Our group rides the bus to the market to evangelize and he preaches to the people on the bus, complete strangers give him undivided attention.  We walk through the market place and he stops to preach to anyone who will listen, his message commands interest and people are saved through his words.  As I watch his character each and every day, I wonder why all of us can’t seem to follow his example.  It’s not that we don’t have the desire to, it’s that we use the excuse that we live in a society afraid of rejection, afraid of ridicule, afraid that taking a stand for Christ might change our status with friends and family.  What makes him so different from us?  I find myself drawn more and more to his presence, perhaps I believe his enthusiasm and desire for his people to believe will somehow miraculously take over my thinking and actions as well.

Last night we held a church service here and two of the women that we visited earlier in the week (they both accepted Christ this week, praise God!) were in attendance.  One of the women I prayed with is raising a little beautiful girl that was abandoned at the market place by her mother just a short time ago.  I looked into her eyes and felt her pain and I prayed that God would bring her comfort, peace, and direction in raising this beautiful child.  As we prayed over and for the women it was very difficult to not breakdown and cry with them, they have touched me more than they will ever know.  They now have a hunger and desire to seek God’s word and understand his grace.  “Gloria a Dios”!!
