Today the team did ministry in Santo Domingo and Antioquia again. First thing in the morning they went to a huge public school and did wonderful ministry there. There's pictures added for you to see.
Then they went out into the streets to meet the people, share the gospel and invited them to the afternoon and evening events. In the afternoon they enjoyed working with the chidlren again with games, drama, singing, Bible story and crafts.
A third group went to a new neighborhood that the church has been attempting to work in. In this neighborhood the drug dealers are giving away drugs to get the people addicted to then take away the little they have. The homes were very rough temporary dwellings. The children were dirty. The people were very needy. The team prayed with a man who is a guard whose wife just left him and their kids and he was minutes away from killing himself. The local pastor is commited to continuing to work with this man.
Tonight the team went to Antioquia to have an outdoor outreach. They had a service in their church last night and tonight they wanted to reach further out into the community. There was a soccer game with Peru against Chili at 5:00pm, so the hope was it would be over before the outreach started at 8:00pm. It would be an important game for all of Peru.
The next couple of days the team will be working with the parent church. It is a large Baptist church about 30 years old and with about 500 members. We expect to be doing some door-to-door, ministry in another school, evangelism in a local market, VBS and 2 evening services. We have found that the schedule is quite FLUID. So, we'll see what God has for us for the next 2 days.
Thank you for your prayers! God has worked mightily. The team has so much to share with you.
